In this Online Talk David Fine, Alison Snowden and Nick Park, all of them former students of National Film & Television School Beaconsfield (NFTS), and all of them award-winning filmmakers and icons of the animated film, sit together and chat. These three people sign responsible for a whole load of Britain’s most-loved animated characters – so don’t miss out when they share their memories from student years, talk about creativity and inspirations and take the audience on a journey into the world of animation.
Oscar winning filmmakers David Fine and Alison Snowden met as students at NFTS, where they both graduated in 1984.Together they have written, directed and created TV shows and short films. Their latest short film “Animal Behaviour” picked up numerous awards, including their fourth Oscar nomination. They have developed the hit UK series “Peppa Pig” and co-developed “Shaun the Sheep” for Aardman Animations.
Four-time Academy Award winner Nick Park is best known for creating the British animated characters “Wallace & Gromit”. The very first short film of the series, “A Grand Day Out”, was his graduation project at NTFS. Aardman Animation hired him before he even finished the piece – and the rest is history. Nick Park was one of the co-directors on the studios first feature film “Chicken Run”.
