ANIMASYROS International Animation Festival is the largest animation festival in Greece and has been held since 2008 in Hermoupolis, Syros. ANIMASYROS is particularly dedicated to the promotion of the Greek Animation community and films in international audiences. The selection of Greek short films by ANIMASYROS International Animation Film Festival + Agora, represent some of the best contemporary Greek animators. Through six short films you will travel from the Ottoman empire of Thomas Künstler’s “Pink Mountain” to the depths of a coal mine in the award-winning ‘Canary’, to the absurdities of the mundane inside the Greek parliament building of acclaimed Eirini Vianneli’s latest short “Ready”, explore the hardships of migration in George Salameh’s “Claw Machine” and the existential nightmare of being trapped in a routine in “Looking for Joy”, before finally travelling all over Europe via Fokion Xenos’ lighthearted “Travel Bugs”.
Next edition of ANIMASYROS is taking place on September 23 to 29th, 2024.
