Vive le cinéma d’animation français! In this ARTE exhibition, you can discover French animated films – from the pioneers of the early 20th century (Emile Reynaud, Emile Cohl, Lortac with the first animation studio and Paul Grimault), to success stories including ‘Shadoks, The Wild Planet’ and the TV series ‘Il était une fois la vie’ and ‘L’Odyssée 31’, to the most popular animated film artists of today (Michel Ocelot, Jean-François Laguionie, Jacques-Rémy Girerd, Sylvain Chomet, Marianne Satrapi, Alain Gagnol and Jean-Loup Felicioli, Florence Miaihle, Adrien Mérigeau, Sébastien Laudenbach…).

French animated film, with all its diversity, vitality and numerous studios, schools and creators, is today a recognised and successful industry.

Through the anniversary exhibition of the collection ‘En sortant de l’école’, which has brought together 26 poets and 134 young artists from many art schools and animation studios in France, discover the exciting world of these short poetry films.
