Watch now: FRITZI AND SOPHIE

The series FRITZI AND SOPHIE – A BORDERLESS FRIENDSHIP premiered this spring at the ITFS on the large LED screen at the Open-Air event. Now, just in time for German Unity Day (national holiday), it finally aired on TV and is also online.

The series is based on the animated film FRITZI – A REVOLUTIONARY TALE (2019), which tells the story of the Peaceful Revolution in 1989 in Leipzig from the perspective of a 12-year-old girl. The eight-part TV series delves deeper into everyday life in East Germany and tells the parallel story of Fritzi’s friend Sophie, who flees to the West with her mother to start a new life in the FRG.

By the way: FRITZI AND SOPHIE was entirely produced in Germany! A co-production between Balance Film and TrickStudio Lutterbeck with Studio Filmbilder. The animations were created using motion-capture technology, further processed with the 3D software Blender.
