Having joined the Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH in January 2001, Andrea Bauer was initially responsible for the program realization of Cinema Europa and the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film. In the course of her work, she increasingly took on tasks in the context of programme design and development, especially for the International Festival of Animated Film, but also for other FMF events. She has been head of the programme department since 2015. Through her work at the FMF as well as various festival and jury participations, she has developed extensive expertise in the field of media and film with a focus on animated film and has a very good network within the national and international industry.

Andrea Bauer studied Romance Philology and Art History (M.A.) at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and Lettres Modernes at the Université Rennes 2. She initially worked as a freelance translator and editor and from 1995-2000 as assistant to the festival director for the French Film Festival Tübingen-Stuttgart and the Mediterranean Film Festival Tübingen, focusing on programme coordination and design as well as guest management.
