Marlene Wagener has been the head of Animation Production Days (APDs) since 2019. Previously, she managed the event as a project manager for ten years. She studied Applied Cultural Sciences with a focus on media and public relations at Leuphana University Lüneburg and worked in PR for many years, both on the agency and corporate sides. Her professional experience includes roles at Colonia Media Filmproduktion, the Cologne PR agency MuehlhausMoers, and UFA Film- und TV-Produktion in Babelsberg.
