The ITFS

The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) is a festival for animated films that has been taking place since 1982. It is the largest event of its kind in Germany and one of the largest in the world. The ITFS is organised by the Stuttgarter Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH, the managing directors are Heike Mozer and Annegret Richter.

Former managing directors were Albrecht Ade, Ulrich Wegenast, Dieter Krauß, Dittmar Lumpp and Uwe Schmitz-Gielsdorf. The festival began as a biennial event, but in 2005 it was decided to organise the festival annually due to increased funding.
