Andrea Bauer joined the Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH in January 2001 and was initially responsible for programme realisation before taking on more and more tasks in the context of programme design and development, particularly for the International Festival of Animated Film, but also for other FMF events. She studied Romance Philology and Art History (M.A.) at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and Lettres Modernes at the Université Rennes 2. She initially worked as a freelance translator and editor and from 1995-2000 as an assistant to the festival director for the French Film Festival Tübingen-Stuttgart and the Mediterranean Film Festival Tübingen.
