Digital Games between the poles of Activation and Escapism

People have always played; you could even say that the entire development of humans, both of individuals and as a species, the process of becoming human, rests to a large extent on playing, on trying out our abilities and our social competence just for fun or with a purpose, with passion and without force and on testing and continually expanding our limits. Children play to explore their environment, and both adolescents and adults also learn about the material and social conditions of our complex world through play. Playing is therefore always also related to learning. How exactly these two areas are linked is shown in the talks by the panel Edutain Me 3.0. The panel discusses the connections between digital playing and the areas of education and learning in co-operation with the Media Authority ofBaden-Württemberg.
