GameZone – Science, Games & Animation

GameZone is a digital playground dedicated to various formats – from Indie games via VR installations to Game jams and takes place in the Kunstgebäude and in the Kunstmuseum.The special programme “She Blinded Me with Science – Science, Games & Animation” breaks new grounds with regards to transfer of knowledge and media culture.The exhibition of the curated games at Kunstgebäude demonstrates which roles animation and computer games play for depictions and mediation of natural scientific research, and how computer games themselves become an instrument of scientific research. While the latest games designed at academies in Germany and international guest schools can be discovered at GameZone Talents, the nominated games of Animated Games Award Germany are waiting to be tested thoroughly. This year, the Kunstgebäude will also be host to GameZone Kids with hands-on activities and various music programmes – fun and entertainment are a given here!Kunstmuseum Stuttgart hosts the intermedia art installation with daily dance performance „Prologue: The Fate of Assassins“ from this year’s ITFS focus country Hong Kong. At Breuninger, physically fit gamers can immerse themselves in the virtual world HOLOGATE and face the popular VR challenge in teams.
