Live Animation Cinema presents: “The Futurological Congress”

After “The Futurological Congress. From the Memoirs of Ijon Tichy” by Stanisław Lem. German by Irmtraud Zimmermann-Göllheim, in an adaptation by Nils Voges. Who doesn’t dream of being able to watch the creation of an animated film? sputnic’s Live Animation Cinema shows this process live for the audience. The viewers see an animated film and, at the same time, can watch how it is animated, cut, dubbed and set to music live by actors. Live Animation Cinema combines animated film with puppet theatre and acting in an extraordinary performance: “The Futurological Congress.” In the midst of violent confrontations at the fringes of the global congress in Costricana, Ijon Tichy, a famous astronaut, gets a sneaking suspicion: Is it possible that the military is using gases that make people happy as a weapon? Tichy tries to escape, but he quickly has to ask himself what is reality and what is illusion… He learns that there is a new form of government – the chemocracy!
