Night of Shame

The “Night of Shame“ is a competition in which directors present their most embarrassing works of the past. Whether it may be incompetent 3D animations on dusty hard drives or shaky first steps as an actor or actress, whether it is ghastly Shakespeare adaptions on VHS or commissioned works that make them hang their heads in shame – we present this charmingly incompetent material proving that no ready-made artist has fallen from the sky yet.On Saturday, 04th may, the filmmakers and audience will gather to eventually vote for the award for the most embarrassing film in a warm-hearted finale. Because at the “Night of Shame”, the worst is the best!The participating directors are a mix of renowned figures of the industry and students – however, what’s vital is the fact that the films are questionable and cause a bit of pain! No need to worry, though, this is not about showing anyone up but about the development as an artist.The “Night of Shame” is organised by students and alumni of Animationsinstitut: a small group of Trash lovers who want to provide a counter-offer to the stressful work and festival hustle and bustle.So whoever is up for a festive embrace of imperfection, can turn up at Club Central (at Jugendhaus Mitte) – roughly 10 minutes walking distance from the ITFS information desk – on Saturday night and in the according mood.
