The Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School Lodz

The Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Lodz is one of the oldest and most prestigious film schools in the world. Its mission is to educate directors and cinematographers of live-action, documentary and animated films, lighting designers, still photographers, editors, screenwriters, producers and actors. In 2019 they celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the „Animation & Special Effects“ Faculty. Focus in teaching is the design and making of animation films and special effects with the usage of various types of digital and analogue cameras and computer programmes. The teaching programme covers: film form production, film special effects, direction of photography, cinematographic animation, graphic design and computer animation, aspects of sound and film editing, direction of photography technology and techniques. Skillful storytelling, bold themes, diversity of animation techniques, experiment and improvisation are the features that distinguish animated short films from the School.
