Atomedge
Based in Cape Town, Atomedge has worked for 15 years on developing a highly detailed & accurate 3D anatomy model. Working closely with the University of Cape Town, cadaver specimens were 3D scanned. Under the guidance of a team of medical and anatomical experts, each detail is meticulously crafted, creating a resource that can be deployed into various 3D animation and interactive platforms.
The company, run as a sole proprietorship, was founded in 2011 by Guy van der Walt, a 3D artist and businessman with a background in creating content for TV advertising and documentaries for channels such as National Geographic and The Discovery channel.
Atomedge creates and licenses highly detailed and realistic anatomical 3D models. Their current model is a complete male body, including all internal anatomical layers and systems, and used in a variety of ways: Software/app development, Medical illustration, AR/VR interactive experiences, Biomechanical Engineering, Traditional educational material (text books), Animation and VFX, 3D Printing, Medical simulation, Medical related graphics and imaging.
