Festival Programmes for Families and young Film Fans
At the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS), animation becomes an adventure. Under the umbrella of Young ITFS, children and young people discover the world of animated film as curious explorers and creative artists.
At Young ITFS Films, families and young film fans can enjoy a selection of feature films, short films, series and premieres in cinemas and at open-air screenings – a celebration of cultural diversity. The ITFS Tricks for Kids Competition also presents the latest international short films in age-appropriate programmes, featuring moderated discussions, live German dubbing and a children’s jury.
Young ITFS Explore is all about getting creative yourself – in open workshops focusing on animation and games. And Young ITFS Educate is aimed at schools and nurseries, offering educationally supported film programmes, workshops and teaching materials that promote media literacy and democratic values.
In this way, the ITFS combines artistic animated film with the promotion of democracy and creates spaces for exchange, curiosity and creative collaboration.
