Quest: Kunst im Game (Art in Game)
Let’s Play meets BEYOND FUN
When: 24–26 October 2025
Where: Kunstverein Wagenhalle e. V. (Innerer Nordbahnhof 1, 70191 Stuttgart)
Admission free
The world of digital games is vast – new titles are released every day. But how can we discover what truly stands out? Which games possess artistic depth, tell socially relevant stories, or set new standards in aesthetics and design?
How can players, parents or educators recognise what really defines quality – and what lies behind the flood of new releases? In our discussion round, game developers, influencers and researchers will exchange views on how to identify such “special” games in the first place.
We’ll talk about criteria, platforms and curation – and about whether there could (or should) be something like a “cultural cashet” for outstanding games. What makes a game strong from an artistic perspective? What does quality mean in the context of digital games? And how can we ensure that cool, high-quality titles don’t get lost in the sheer abundance of the gaming world?
