Best of ITFS 2026 beim Northern Exposure Festival
ITFS Animation Tour
Every spring, the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) enchants its audience – and afterwards goes on a grand tour: with the three programmes BEST OF ITFS, BEST OF TRICKS FOR KIDS and BEST OF TRICKSTAR NATURE 2026, we present our award-winning short films and the festival’s finest moments for adults, children and young people. Discover the creative diversity of contemporary international animation – and perhaps we’ll meet in person in Stuttgart next spring.
BEST OF ITFS 2026
The programme features a selection of the best international short films from the competitions at the ITFS 2026, showcasing both award-winning works and outstanding new discoveries. These are films that impressively showcase the diversity and creative strength of contemporary animation, with social relevance, personal perspectives and innovative artistic approaches.
The films in this year’s BEST OF ITFS collection tell the stories of people going through various phases of change and offer a deep insight into their emotional worlds – from a child’s fears, through the awkward moments of adolescence, to the sense of duty felt by adult daughters, and the emotional turmoil that arises when a life is slowly drawing to a close. As diverse as the films are, they all explore what, at our core, makes us human: love and care, even in the face of loss and fear.
