In Persona: Ülo Pikkov
Ülo Pikkov is one of the central voices of contemporary Estonian animation. His films are precisely constructed spaces of memory in which he intertwines real life stories with social and historical events of the 20th century. Pikkov works with real objects – yarn, paper, books, found objects that are animated in front of the camera – for him, these things are contemporary witnesses that can tell their story through animation. In this film programme, Ülo Pikkov shows and discusses – in persona – his most important films and those that have inspired and influenced his work.
