Unsung Women Heroes
Nancy Denney-Phelps pays tribute to forgotten female pioneers of animation such as Lillian Friedman Astor and Joy Batchelor. They paved the way for women to pursue careers as directors, animators and producers – beyond their former role as ink and paint “girls”.
