Animation Production Day 2015 – Selected German TV Series Projects on the Road to Success
This year saw the first cooperation between Animation Production Day (APD), which took place in Stuttgart in early May as part of the ITFS and the FMX, and Cartoon Forum (15-18 September 2015 in Toulouse). As part of this collaboration, representatives from German broadcasters KiKA, SWR, HR, ZDF, The Walt Disney Company GmbH, Super RTL and Your Family Entertainment who were present at APD selected the three German series projects they were confident had the greatest potential for the international market.

Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film 2015 – A week full of animated highlights – The awardees
With about 80,000 visitors the 22nd Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) came to an end this Sunday, May 10, 2015. The organizers are totally satisfied with this resonance. Despite unfavourable circumstances, like the rail strike of Deutsche Bahn which took place during the whole festival week the record of 2014 almost could be reached. The visitors witnessed over 1,000 films in about 200 single events.

Animation Production Day 2015 – The success story continues
For the first time a contract for a European co-production has been signed directly at APD. The biggest yet Animation Production Day (APD) came to an end in Stuttgart this evening. Around 120 participants from 12 different countries negotiated cooperations for the 37 selected animation projects showcased in this year’s APD in Stuttgart’s L-Bank in over 450 one-to-one meetings.

Winners Animated Com Award
Within the 22nd ITFS the best productions in the field of applied animation received their prizes in the evening of May 8, 2015 in the Mercedes-Benz Museum Stuttgart at the Animated Com Award. In this competition the best applied animation in the fields of advertising, spatial communication and technology are awarded. Also the special prizes Future needs Derivation – Individual Mobility by the Daimler AG and the Lapp Connected Award by U. I. Lapp GmbH have been given.

Tricks for Kids series and German Animation Screenplay award
Within „Stories and Series in the New Castle“ the Tricks for Kids-Award for the Best Children’s Animated Series was awarded to „Cleo“ by Ana Sánchez-Gijón. Furthermore the awarding of the German Animation Screenplay Award took place, winner is „Robbi, Tobbi und das Fliewatüüt“ by Jan Berger.

Nominees for the Animated Com Award have been selected
The jury has chosen 50 high class films, from 141 submitted international productions, for this year’s shortlist of the Animated Com Award. Ten of them were nominated for the three prize categories. Additionally Daimler AG awards the extra prize “Future needs Derivation – Mobility in a Digital World” and U. I. Lapp GmbH the „Lapp Connected Award“. The award ceremony will take place as a gala event at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart on May 8, 2015, with, among other highlights, keynote speaker Jörn Großhans, VFX Supervisor at Mackevision (Emmy-awarded for “Game of Thrones”).

Animation Production Day 2015 is expanding
“Producers Meet Producers”, the new event in the Animation Production Day 2015 programme, promises to be a great success – 76 producers have signed up for it. New funding from the German Federal Film Board (FFA) has created a positive stimulus. With 120 participants from 12 different countries and 37 selected projects with a combined production volume of 130 million Euros, this is the biggest APD yet.

Ticket to worldwide success for animated children’s series – Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film cooperates with Reed MIDEM/MIPJunior
Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS, May 5-10, 2015), one of the most outstanding events for animated films worldwide, and Reed MIDEM, organizer of MIPJunior in Cannes (October 3-4, 2015), the world’s biggest showcase of kids’ programmes, have started a partnership to improve prospects for animated series on the international market. For the first time, Reed MIDEM has endowed the ITFS competition Tricks for Kids award for the best children’s animated series.

Submission deadline Animated Com Award extended until February 13, 2015
In the unique atmosphere of the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the Animated Com Award prizes within the framework of the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film excellent projects in the field of advertising, technology and spatial communication. The submission deadline for the Animated has been extended. Films can be submitted until Febraury 13, 2015. In 2015, the Special Award of the Daimler AG „Future needs Derivation – Mobility in digital world“ will be awarded for the fourth time. The U. I. Lapp GmbH will award an own prize for the third time, the “Lapp Connected Award”.

Animation Production Day 2015 is expanding
Animation Production Day (APD), the business platform for the international animation industry, is taking place this year in Stuttgart’s L-Bank on 7 and 8 May with an expanded programme. “Producers Meet Producers” is the new section of this networking event hosted by the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) and FMX, Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Transmedia, and organised by Film- & Medienfestival gGmbH (FMF) and Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg.

Preselection jury starts viewing competition films, first programme highlights
The 22. Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS, May 5-10, 2015) is taking shape. Submission deadline for the categories International Competition, Young Animation and Tricks for Kids has elapsed. The preselection jurys started viewing, discussing and selecting the submitted films – so far more than 1.700.
A few competitions are still open for submissions: the feature film competition AniMovie, the Animated Com Award and the German Animation Screenplay Award. First highlights of the festival’s supporting programme are fixed. The upcoming ITFS will welcome Spain as its guest country. Among the guests are the world renowned and prize-winning Stop Motion specialists Anna Solanas and Marc Riba. Another ITFS 2015 programme highlight deals with the interaction between comics and animation.

The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) is one of the most outstanding events for animated film worldwide. The Festival takes into its scope the whole spectrum of current productions in the animated film sector, including the intersections between games, architecture, art, design and comedy.
