Cartoon Saloon (Dublin)

The presentation of the Studio of Cartoon Saloon will be presented by Jeremy Purcell. A long time employee of the company, he has worked with the studio on and off since 1999. Starting out as Head of Special Effects for the feature film in development, “The Secret of Kells”, he has held many roles in the studio to date. He is currently a Creative Director of the studio and the Cartoon Saloon Supervising Director of the TV Series “Pete the Cat”. His long time collaboration with the studio makes him an ideal candidate to lead the story from the humble beginnings through to one of Ireland‘s most successful animation studios. The presentation will look at the early days of Cartoon Saloon, working on three different Oscar nominated features, as well as the creativity and collaborations of the TV Series “Puffin Rock”, the current growth in the studio and the making of Kilkenny as a centre of animation excellence in Ireland.
