Voices of French Animation 1
5. May, 19:00 - 23:59
Since its inception in 1982, the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film has always strived to showcase the diversity of genres that ‘make up’ animation, both in terms of form and technique. In doing so, the festival has succeeded in discovering works and talents and making contemporary animation filmmaking accessible to the widest possible audience – young and old – by means of a challenging and eclectic selection.
To affirm our support for the ITFS, we are particularly pleased to present two film programmes by female directors who have left their mark on the history of French animation. You can find the programmes on ONLINE+.
We also have the pleasure of welcoming some of these filmmakers on ONLINE PRO as part of the Zoom talk ‘Voices of French Animation at the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film’ on Friday, May 7at 3pm and we warmly invite you to take part in the exchange with the artists.
I wish the 28th edition of the ITFS every success and hope that experts and connoisseurs from all over the world will gather here around a cause that together we must defend more than ever: the short film format in all its diversity and richness.
With warm regards
Christine Gendre

This oriental Marilyn Monroe marked the golden age of Egyptian musicals. Even today, her voice still echoes throughout the Middle East and her mysterious death in the waters of the Nile continues to feed the wildest rumors.
