Stuttgart celebrates the 30th edition of the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film this year and the European Union celebrates its creation 30 years ago.

We are therefore embarking on a small cinematic excursion to our European neighbour countries with two programmes (a children’s programme and an adult programme). And because animation connects, we are even including non-EU countries like Switzerland and Norway. Because we want to show you European stories. Stories that tell of shared experiences, of wanderlust and family stress, of great friendships and of the desire to find oneself.

Because no matter which country we look at, it ultimately doesn’t matter where you live or where you come from. As human beings, we often have much more in common across national borders than separates us.

Happy Birthday, EU!
