There are lots of fantastic tricks to experience at the Tricks for Kids Awards Ceremony again this year: Our children’s jury will present their winning film from the Tricks for Kids short film competition and their Special Mention. This year’s audience darling will receive the Tricks for Kids Audience Award. The magical presenter Alexander Merk accompanies the jury children and the audience with his magic tricks through the colourful animated film show with various guests and winners. We are back live on stage this year, with audience.
With humour and emotion, illusion, deception and his very own brand of magic, Alexander Merk conjures his way into the hearts of his audience. The magician from Berlin tells magical, imaginative stories and allows his audience to experience something that often goes short: amazement!
Together with our jury of experts, consisting of seven children who know best what accounts for cool animation for children, Alexander Merk leads us through a colourful show with stories about animals and people who, united by the power of friendship and solidarity, overcome challenges and solve problems together.
In cooperation with MACH DICH STARK – Initiative against child poverty, we are organising the children’s jury at ITFS 2023 to be even more inclusive. We promote exchange, respect and acceptance between children with different family backgrounds and social origins. In this way, ‘Tricks for Kids – the Children’s Film Festival of the ITFS 2023’ becomes even more of a place for equal opportunities, openness and diversity!
During the show we will also present what can come out when children make their own animated films and screen the results of the Children’s Animation Academy 2022.
