OUCH !

OUCH ! tackles a major taboo: pain. The kind that makes us wince just thinking about it — so agonizing that we avoid talking about it for fear of feeling it, that we’d rather hide it so as not to upset others. What would happen if we showed it? Unpleasant, isn’t it? But what do we do when the pain won’t go away? Can we really silence it?
OUCH ! brings together people who live with chronic pain, endometriosis. The challenge is that this disease is invisible. Words and images are lacking. We have to create everything from scratch. Together, they’ll shed light on the everyday struggles; feeling misunderstood by loved ones, experiencing pain during sex, fear of doing things wrong, dealing with doctors… An episode, a discussion, a struggle. By sharing their emotions and experiences, the protagonists will realize they are not alone, that none of this is their fault. For now, what feels good is this moment of connection and unity. OUCH ! creates a new portrayal of pain that warms hearts. 

Constance Le Scouarnec is a French producer and founder of Anna Films, an independent production company launched in June 2024. She notably accompanied at Miyu Productions the filmmaker Flora Anna Buda on “27”, which won the Palme d’Or for Best Short Film in 2023. Through Anna Films, Le Scouarnec develops short and feature-length projects in both live action and animation, supporting singular, contemporary voices and emerging filmmakers across borders.
