In Persona: Christina Schindler

Christina Schindler is well known through her role as Professor of Animation at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, where she has taught for over 30 years and, as head of the programme and vice dean, has significantly influenced generations of future animation talent. Under her guidance, many have developed not only their craft but also their creative and artistic vision. Her deep connection to the work of her students is also reflected in this programme. She has regularly served as a jury member at film festivals, including multiple years at ITFS. Through her own work, Christina Schindler also secured a firm place in the film world. After studying at the Kassel Academy of Fine Arts, she founded her own production company in 1988 and startet producing animated films for children. Her films captivate audiences with their original storylines and artistic quality. They have been presented at numerous children’s film festivals and received important awards. For “Rinnsteinpiraten” she received, among other awards, the Crystal Bear at the Berlinale in 1993.
