The animated films and drawings by Paul Barritt are characterised by minimalist imagery, inspired by early cinema and cartoons of the 1930s. The inconography is mysterious and bonds with the materiality of the films and drawings. At the same time, his films are playful and burlesque, and have a fascinating, mesmerising effect on the viewer.
