A SONG IS A MOVIE IS A MIRROR IS A SOUL

‘A song is a movie is a mirror is a soul’ brings together music videos created within the last five years – most of them during the year 2020 and after. The creators are primarily young artists who have discovered the art of animated film as a form of expression for themselves. Many of the works give the impression that they were made in close collaboration with the musicians. They are spaces that unfold outside the mainstream – many are experimental, whimsical and idiosyncratic.

The programme begins with works that combine live action and animation and moves on to various forms of 2D/3D animation, painting, drawing, stop-motion, artificial intelligence. The animations create intensifications that amplify the power of the music. The audience passes through different emotional worlds, is confronted, touched, and entertained.
