Those who want to rise to the challenge of developing interactive experiences within 34 hours to accompany, emphasise, and enrich the live performance of a chamber orchestra, can now apply for the ITFS19 Music Game Jam. From all applications received, we will select five teams of up to four persons each for participation.
The Chamber Music Game Jam is organised by the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) in collaboration with Chasing Carrots and the Film Commission Region Stuttgart, and results from a new cooperation with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester (SKO). The competition places classical music at the centre of a game idea.
The Music Game Jam starts on Friday, May 03, 2019 at 10 a.m. and ends on Saturday, May 04, 2019 at 8 p.m. It is open to creatives, programmers, game designers, graphic artists, sound designers, musicians, students, and anyone interested. Experience in development is not required, but helpful. If desired, SKO musicians offer suggestions and provide assistance for any music-related issues on site.
The ITFS Game Jam is a forum for the regional exchange between creatives from the games and animation sector and, at the same time, an international showcase.
The SKO is among the most renowned chamber orchestras and, for more than 70 years, has distinguished itself by its exploratory spirit. Alongside its core repertoire spanning from Bach to the 20th century, the SKO keeps breaking new ground, including the creation of projects involving live techno and jazz. To place music at the centre of a game idea is new, creative, and a great playground for your ideas!
Internet access and catering etc. will be provided, but participants must bring their own notebooks and software. Participants will also be given free accreditation for the 26th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film.
The application fee is 10 EUR, the number of participants is limited.
Award-giving takes place on Sunday, May 05, 2019 on Schlossplatz, where all games will be presented and played on the large LED screen.
