Animation Lounge: MONSTER MIA

From Filmakademie to Finsterwald Academy in 27 years.

It all began in 1997 at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg: a chance encounter led to M.A.R.K.13™, which in turn became a group of companies – and finally MONSTER MIA, an international animated film with strong roots in the region. Together with director Verena Fels, also an alumna of the Animation Institute, many other artists from Baden-Württemberg and local partners such as Sola Media, we’ll be sharing how the film made its way to the big screen – just in time for Halloween 2026.

The ITFS is organising the Animation Lounge in collaboration with MFG Filmförderung and Animation Media Creators Region Stuttgart (AMCRS) as a prelude to the film industry’s monthly networking event. Following this, from 7 pm, the MFG’s regular meeting will take place.
