“Manou The Swift” – From idea to Screenplay

Axel Melzener has worked on numerous scripts for film and TV in the past, but “Manou the Swift” was the first screenplay for an animated film he worked on as an author. The unfamiliar medium posed new challenges and sparked many a light-bulb moment. Based on his experiences with the project, in this workshop he talks about the differences between live-action and animated film with regard to story concept and scene composition, of how to take advantage of the strengths of the animation format and about how to avoid potential pitfalls.
