The BW-Reel: Best of Baden-Württemberg

The 25th edition of the Festival of Animated Film presents another selection of animated shorts from Baden-Württemberg, ranging from children‘s films and series to narrative shorts and experimental music videos. Many of these films were made at the “talent factory“ Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, another was made at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. Over the past 20 years, a flourishing studio scene has been established in the Stuttgart region, in particular. It is represented in this programme by shorts made by Studio FILM BILDER, Studio Soi and Büro Achter April, respectively. Further notable accomplishments are Manuel Kolip‘s puppet animation “Too close to the animal” and Daniel Bahr‘s short “Full Throttle” on Stuttgart‘s favourite topic: fine particulate matter.
