Weltmusik & Visuals: Ziryab Akademie meets Kevork Mourad

Musicians of the new “Ziryab-Akademie für Weltmusik” of Forum der Kulturen Stuttgart e. V. enter the stage of the Open Air area in the Festival Garden together with the Syrian-Armenian performance artist and animator Kevork Mourad. A foretaste of this audiovisual art event is provided on the evening before, at the “Trickstar Business” award ceremony. The Ziryab-Akademie was founded at the end of 2016 on the initiative of Georgian musician Zaza Miminoshvili. By means of scales and rhythms, it tries to bring together cultures and eras and unite different musical worlds. Kevork Mourad is famous for his technique of spontaneous painting, where he shares the stage with musicians – a collaboration in which art and music develop in counterpoint to each other.
