Schoolpräsentation: Trickfilmklasse Kassel

The animated film class in Kassel is a concentration within Visual Communication studies at the Kunsthochschule Kassel. One of the Kunsthochschule’s particular hallmarks is its interdisciplinary work. At the centre of animated film teaching is the artistic development of the students, who work on independent projects alone and in groups. They are supervised individually by Prof. Martina Bramkamp and Prof. Thomas Meyer-hermann as well as staff members Franka Sachse and Dennis Stein-Schomburg. In addition, well-known international animated film artists are regularly invited for workshops at the Kunsthochschule including Priit Pärn, Phil Mulloy and Regina Pessoa. The artistic projects are complemented by seminars on the theory, techniques and market of animated film. The results are quite respectable – the films from the Kunsthochschule have received numerous awards, including two Academy Awards.
